Panoramic view of the world famous Registan Square in the city of Samarkand. The buildings were build from King Timur Tamerlan in the 14th century when the city of Samarkand became the capital of the Timurid Empire. The full ensemble of the Registan Square is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Samarkand was one of the most important oasis and place of caravanserais at the Great Silk Road.
