A rare Shoebill Stork takes flight in Mabamba Swamp near the shores of Lake Victoria, Uganda in East Africa. The shoebill derives its name from its large shoe like bill. The species (Balaeniceps rex) is considered to be vulnerable due to habitat destruction.
