Taj Mahal en Agra, India – Canal de agua bordeado de cipreses conduce hacia el mausoleo adornado adornado por cuatro minaretes

The Taj Mahal, an immense mausoleum of white marble, is located Agra India. It was built between 1631 and 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. A water canal with fountains and lined with cypress trees lies between the walkways leading through the gardens to the Taj Mahal. The structure contains relief work in highly polished marble and is richly decorated with inlay work containing precious and semi precious stones. The exterior of the tomb is square with chamfered corners. The large double storied domed chamber is a perfect octagon. The four free-standing minarets at the corners of the platform add dimension to the architecture. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world’s heritage.
