Male red-crested pochard (Netta rufina) on the Limmat quays of the Zurich old city center (Altstadt), Switzerland. A large migratory plant-eating diving duck, increasingly common in Swiss rivers and likes throughout the year. The male has a rounded orange head, red bill, black breast, white flanks, brown back, and black tail. The female is mainly a pale brown, with a darker back and crown and a whitish face.
